I use Quanta Plus editor to write html. It’s open source, it works on mac with some hacks and it is full of interesting features. Everything works well but not the cut and paste from Aqua. To use Quanta + you need to install X11 and if you cut text from an appliocation within cannot paste into the acqua application.
I found this hint that works fine. It suggests to use xclipboard and X11 application the makes the “bridge” between the two windows systems. xclipboard it is already packaged with X11. You have only to launch it.
